At rpm does everybody else shift at? I used to shift at ~2k rom like the manual recommends but my truck felt like it was hardly making it up hills. I shift at no less than 2500, usually 3,000 and sometimes as high as 3,500, even 4,000, but not very often. I have no issues with power now

I have a friend that shifts at 1800 rpm. His excuse is that he has a 4 banger and it "isn't designed to go high rpm like yours". Screw logic lol.

Precisely. Factors like, what engine (operation characteristics), tranny gear ratios, axle ratio, tire size quickly come to mind. There surely is no one size fits all.

Between 1500 and 2000 in regular traffic, if more power is needed I'm not afraid of hitting 5500 though

depends on what im doing... (when i drive manuals) If im going out for a cruise and am not in a hurry ill short shift at 2-2500, if im normally driving 2500-3. If im going to go fast (depends on the vehicle) Ill shift either 1k off of redline or at redline.
