I just got a 1991 ranger, 2wd, 4.0 v-6, standard cab, short wheel base. It is having trans issues though...it wants to shift out of first at about 4000 rpm's then shifts to 2nd late also. I tried adjusting the bands like people have said...loosen the lock nut and turn the stud until it bottoms out then turn 1 1/2 threads back out and tighten lock nut...that correct? it didnt really do anything....any ideas on what it could be. It still drives fine and has all the gears and still driveable. Any help would be great. Thanks
