Default I own a 1996 4 cylinder Ford ranger pickup with 205k miles on it.?

I am wanting to change the gas filter and air filter. Can you tell me where I find the gas filter on the vehicle and also the estimated cost of a new filter? Is it hard to replace?

I am also looking to replace the air filter and would like to know where to find that as well as estimated cost. Again, is it hard to replace?

The fuel filter will be located along the inner frame rail, between the tank and the engine, the filter will rane in cost from 5-15 dollars depending on where you purchase it. Sprecial tools will be required to remove the lines from the filter.

The air filter is located in lage black box under the hood of the truck. Again filter will cost from 8-15 dollars. easy to change.

The air filter should be under $10.00 and is located in a box under the hood. Look in your owners manual, most have a diagram and location of things in the engine bay.

Fuel filter, as others have stated..... should be no more then $12.00

I hope you just bought the truck.... 205K if bought new and no air filter change is bad...

The air filter is cheap, easy to do yourself, it is under the hood, and it is connected by tubing, and in a box. Take off the clamps and remove the hood.

The gas filter is under the truck and not as easy as the air filter, you need line wrenches to remove, and it could get rather rusty and stubborn to remove,.
It is a round cylinder connected to the fuel line.

The air filter: about 20.00
the fuel filter : about 25.00

The fuel filter is located under the truck on the left (driver) side along the frame between the cab and the rear wheel. It requires a special snap release tool which you can purchase when you buy the filter. Changing it is relatively easy once you get the snap type hose clamps released.
The air filter is in a large black housing near the radiator with wire release clamps on the top. Just release the clamps remove the cover and the filter drops in.
