Difficulty of installing an OHC?
I really want to install an OHC and I was looking at the installation instructions and it looks kinda easy until it gets to the wiring part. This will be my first time messin around with wiring stuff and im kinda nervous to do it. Also what tools are required for the job? Thanks guys

Re: Difficulty of installing an OHC?
That was my first crack at wiring. I just followed the How to step by step and with the help of STL I got it done. look over the how to and it will show you everything you need

Re: Difficulty of installing an OHC?
electrical t-taps You dont have to cut the wire you wanna splice into. Wire that you wanna connect to goes through the connector. The wire you are adding goes into the one slot. You clamp the top down on it.

The most difficult part for me was getting the courage to cut a gaping hole in my black headliner

Re: Difficulty of installing an OHC?
If they want more then 35 bucks for everything then dont buy it. You can get them on here for that shipped. Some junkyards will want 45-50 bucks at least the ones around here do.
You need:
Over Head Console
Mounting Bracket
Temp Sensor
About 6 inches of wire from the main OHC harness
Mounting screws optional

Re: Difficulty of installing an OHC?
Should be some where around the front of the bumper, I've never pulled one so someone else could probably explain a little better. Here's what it looks like. Its the little black thing in the middle with the wires running out the top. This picture is of it mounted on someones ranger; not where it is mounted on an explorer

X2 I messed up and cut about a inch too much. This was my first time ever doing wiring. It honestly wasn't that bad. You just have to have time and patients. Don't let no one aggravate you like my little sister kept doing to me. An extra set of hands is always a plus. And it's a nice factory mod.
