I dont think so, It makes people like ME understand. I'm not mad about it, I just never thought it accounted for anything other than activity. But NOW I know! You didnt create any issues, I hope itstays open so that way other people can understand it too. But there is no sense arguing over it, I'll be the first to admit... I'M A POST WHORE.. It keeps me busy during down time at work, and home, and in the car, and pretty much every where else!

I would say I'm in the same boat, my work involves being on the computer, and there is a lot of down time. So there isn't much else to do except see what's goin on on here...

Post counts mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Personally, I think they should be removed from view due to their misleading nature.

Welcoming new members should not be frowned upon. I know people say I do it just to post and drive my count up. I dont do it for that reason.

I hope that the new person see's that I am a mod, and they know who they can turn to for any help. Now I cant say I can help them 100% of the time with some stuff they ask. There have been times I had to tell to contact Tom.

I didn't say welcoming new members should be frowned upon. But you know damn well there's a group of people who could care less about new people yet sit there once a week typing "welcome" 50 times in a row to all the new people in order to bring their counts up.

People still think a post count is some reflection on their usefulness on a forum. Always been that way on every forum everywhere. That's why I've always believed post counts should be shut off. They indicate nothing of any use and are misinterpreted by people who don't know any better.

I know I have gotten on her a few times and clicked new post and 2 pages were introduction post

I see what you're saying, I agree... Idk what I was argueing for earlier. They do get misinterpreted, I just was pointing out earlier that some people on here with a lot of posts, post something of use 6 out of 10 times. And I do agree with the fact that some people only use the introduce yourself as a way to boost numbers. thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Regardless, of post counts, who has how many, I think its good no matter what and why they are posted because it shows members activity on the site and proves the site to be interesting enough to draw members back to this forum to contribute, b.s. or whatever.
