Default whats ground point did u use for HID relay harness?

I will be installing DDM HIDs soon the HI/LO kit with the relay I obtained from DDM. What did you guys use for the ground points to connect the ground rings at the relay??

I am not familiar with HID's but any bolt/nut not painted is a good ground point wherever the relay is. I used the bolts on my inner fender, drivers side already has a ground point

passenger side, airbox plate bolt.
drivers side, where the ground point is bolted to the core support.
i double-sided taped them to the flat horizontal area on the inner fender just behind the vertical part of the core support.

on the airbox plate i just had to sand the ground points down.

what if I splice both ground ends and hook them up to a cable connecting it straight to negative battery post for a better more reliable connection or it wont make a difference???

It is always recommended to make a new ground point . Using an existing ground point may cause feedback . BCM's are very sensitive .

what do you mean by pro will make a new ground.... r u being sarcastic?? I am the type of guy that I do things the PRO WAY.... not mickey mouse any means... I solder wires versus crimp, I use zip ties and foam padding on anything I attempt to install, etc... well at least I try my best...

I was just asking an honest question.

On the driver's side, I used the negative battery terminal, I'm pretty sure that's what the instruction said. On the passenger side, I think I used a radiator bolt? I need to make better new grounds I suppose, but they work to get it working quickly when it's dark out and you're excited about a new mod

Soild ground to an unpainted mounting bolt will work great but if your going to worry about it just wire to the battery as you suggested.

you're right I missed it on my posts, but not on the actual work. I use heat shrink tubing at work and at my ranger.

Using an existing bolt vs drilling a new ground point 2 inches away vs direct to the battery negative post is not going to make any difference in anything at all. As long as your connections are all clean and tight.

One of the biggest part of my job is repairing wiring harnesses and and replacing , wires . Ground things the wrong way and you can get into a bad accident . And im liable for that . Feed back can cause severe problems. Ive seen a Denali go thru a garage door all cause a ground wire wasn't placed properly . The vehicle was grounded to the body when it should have been grounded to the frame, The CM's all went wacky.

Right. Which really has nothing to do with where you ground your HID's. As I said, as long as your connections are clean and tight, it does not matter whether you make a new ground, use and existing ground, or go to the battery.
