Default Save the Ranger

With all the talk about the Ford Motor Co. doing away with the Ranger in the near future and as many Ranger owners that are members of this "FordRangerForum.com" website, do you think it would make them think twice about keeping the Ranger in their fleet if we all could all come together and do something to show how much we want the Ranger to continue in the future?

Maybe killing the Ranger is Ford's way to bailout GM. I mean, who in their right mind would overspend for a F150 that they don't need, especially in large fleets.

the Ranger was slotted for death in 2006, then 2009, now 2011. Unfortunately, this time, there will be no reprieve. The ford Ranger Plant here in MN has already ceased production and is currently re-badging their inventory of unsold 2010 Rangers as 2011's. Then, once those are sold, the plant shuts down. The plant, in St. Paul, MN, is the oldest Automotive plant, which began operation in 1924.

Incorrect. I'm having one built to order as we speak.. I don't even have a build date yet. They are still in production.

It's frustrating. Rangers were the best selling small truck from 1987 to 2004 then it's like Ford just threw their hands up in the air & said to hell with the whole segment. I'm not ready to buy a new truck yet (finishing school this year) and although i'd love to have a new Ranger, i'll probably buy a new 6-speed Nissan Frontier Pro-4x 4x4 next year. I'd just as soon have a new Ranger, but I can't do much about it. I love my '03 Ranger extended cab 4x4. If I could buy it brand new again, I would.

I used to live over by there when I lived in MN. It is sad thinking that it will close. That is a huge facility and I hope Ford will produce something else there if they are not going to make Rangers there anymore.

Ford just doesn't seem to understand that people who want a small truck don't want a big truck. Simple enough message but they still think ranger drivers are going to become f150 drivers because they can buy it for a good price and get good gas mileage... Maybe when they don't have rangers available and they see people buying other brands they figure out people want a small truck.

I agree, I like the smaller trucks vs. the full size trucks, that's why I have always liked the Ranger.
