Default motor problems

I have a 88 ranger 4x4 with a 2.9 its just a play truck. I cant figure it out what is going on it starts and runs perfect wont die it doesn't run rough or smoke but after it runs for a while and you turn it off and try and start it back up it sounds like its hydro locking and you cant get the motor to turn over but if you let it sit for a bit and cool down it will turn over and start. I thought maybe blown head gasket or cracked head but it runs great when its running so im lost for words on what could be the problem.

I want to start this back up!

~When you point out someone's truck has multiple gens of parts on it and they ask how you knew.

~When A Ranger drives by and everyone you're with yells "Shut the F*** up Keegan! (Or your name)" before you even open your mouth.
