i love my 5.4...great motor, plenty of power...i aint worried about it at all...lots of low end grunt...the 5.4 is not nearly as bad as what everybody makes it out to be

What? The 5.0 and the 6.2 are triton engines... Both are made under the same modular name as the 4.6, 5.4, and 6.8. The new 5.0 is just a modified 4.6. The triton engines are great engines! The ones in the truck aren't fast, because, well, it's a truck with a transmission built for towing... That's why the F150 could tow so much more than the competitors. And saying the 5.4 "isn't fast" is irrelevant, because the Texas mile speed record was set with a twin turbocharged 5.4 in a ford GT that made 1000 horsepower, which topped out like, 260 mph.

Well there you are wrong they are a completely redesigned engines and are ahead of the curve of any company. They are not tritons they are a coyote some say off a boss platform. And the transmissions in the f150s were terrible. The 4r75s just they slip into gear no firmness the sun shell always blows apart in them valve bodies go and torque lock up goes to. If they were smart they would put the same trans from the super duty in, they hold up better. And a built 5.4 of course is gonna put out a lot of power 1000 HP hmm 6.2 stock pushes over 400 seems like a lot of room for improvement. With that said not quite sure what your talking about but we can pretend your right.

Besides the 6.2 is going away in the 150s next year and the best selling motor in them now isn't even a v8

Yeah because everyone thinks the eco boost its incredible but when the 5.0 gets the same mileage ballpark and have the same power I'm taking a 5.0 it will last longer and when your warranty is up no turbo issues to worry about like the eco boost. Especially when that eco is no longer under warranty and you start having turbo issues... pricy problem. I'm just saying people with newer trucks would rather have a high gvwr car rather than a real working truck and auto makers know that which is why they put out what they do, starting in 97 ford went for bigger wider lower smoother riding making a truck a car started worrying about mpgs not durability. Now ford is bringing back the power and strength along with technology. Not saying the 5.4 and 4.6 can't do work there just not built to hold up to the abuse in the drive train like the older 300, 302, 351 and even the self grenading e40d was a stronger transmission than the f150s of recent years. Not positive the newer options are any better but from driving them it all feels different and doesn't seem and weak and cheap.

You could always slap a tubro on the 5.0. Best of both worlds.

Eco boost barely makes more power and you have to spool to make the power. And the 07 is still the 4r75 right?
