I have wheeled my truck it's fair share. and made it through stuff 4wd guys were too scared to try lol. that being said I'm also a freak about keeping my truck clean and in tip top shape.

it was mentioned to always clean EVERYTHING after playin in the mud. best input in this thread so far imo. I always simple green the whole underside of the truck, engine bay, brake clean the brakes etc etc.

Also speed is not your friend(2wd or 4wd) I've seen stupid people in tacomas on 35's and up hit a mudhole thats 3 feet deep 2nd gear pinned and it tore everything out of the front end. once i stop laughing i'll pull them out, get in my truck and crawl in and creep right through.

helpful hint-never hurts with our 2wd's to throw some extra weight in the bed above the axle. you'd be shocked how much it improves your chances of not getting stuck!

The "stupid people" with "tacomas on 35s" destroy their 4x4's in the 3' of mud.. then you "creep in" with your 3.0L 2wd and tow them out.. but only after you've had a good laugh.

Sure.
Sure ya do.

No you're just one of those 4.0 is the way to go and 2wd can't go anywhere people. And yes 90% of the people I wheel with are indeed stupid. That doesn't make me one. Anyone who ACTUALLY has gone wheeling will tell you People get stupid and think they can do anything and everything with a lifted truck including the scenario I mentioned of hitting mud too fast.

done bickering with ya. Not trying to be a dick but at least post something useful.

I'll call a truce lol

fyi you need to twinstick that sumbeach when ya finally get it!

All I know is that for my purposes, where a 2wd gets stuck, a 4x4 won't which is why I'll soon own 2.

Truce sounds good.. I just enjoy a good argument is all

I'm not familiar with the twinstick.... what's the deal with that?

manual transfer case!!!! no electronics for the win! sadly one of the fx4 options that got the boot from ford years ago

good arguments are fun haha. In all honesty I've only got stuck one time though and it wasn't even in the mud lmao. just started down a trail where the ruts got WAYYYY too deep haha.

----------

btw my truck blows in snow over 10" but i have another truck that starts with a c that shall not be mentioned in here haha

Yeah, haha, deep ruts are bad news for sure.

Hahaha I'll mention my other truck... it's a 92 jimmy, it's got the manual transfer case... that truck is a surprisingly capable 4x4 for what it is... It's only got 150,000km on it (93k miles).. interior is mint and everything works great.. got it cheap! And it's a 5 speed!

I gotta say though, for a 4.3 it's a fucking dog, but I'm certain the 3.08 rear end has something to do with that.
