That's awesome man good luck. I think everyone should be entitled to college, and if you work hard enough, even if you don't have the grades and the money there are resources out there. I looked into computer science, but frankly I can't take that much SITTING!!! I'm a glorified paper jockey now, and that makes me nuts as it is!

What part of California do you live?? And I'm a Freshman in college right now, a Computer Science major, so if you ever need anything hit me up..

On the subject of the ranger, it's yours and you earned it so push it as hard as you can! Have fun with it!

i used to beat the living piss out of my rangers, i wheeled my 01 harder when it was stock than i ever have with the lift and all that. i realized that someday my luck would run out and id end up broke somewhere out in the middle of nowhere. i also decided i wanted to keep the truck for a while so i started to not beat it so hard. just as long as you are prepared to replace worn out or broken stuff. go have a ball with it, use common sense and the truck will be fine. oh yeah, i agree with pooleo, keep it out of the water, ive seen more trucks wrecked in water than anywhere else.

I couldn't agree more, but I'm building mine specifically to go out and see the world, including the most remote locations. So I have to think ahead, maintain her meticulously, and she hasn't hiccuped yet. Side with caution, it's better to be known as the wuss, then the ******* who took it to far and rolled their truck.

WHen you say keep her out of the water, do you mean avoid puddles like my video or avoid submerging it deeply?

Lots of good stuff in this thread, thank you everyone for your replies, it helps more than you think!

And allathlete5, THANK YOU very much! I'm still a beginner-ish programmer in Java/C++, and I live near Laguna Beach. I appreciate your offer for help, I might need it sometime

This^

I used to be the same with the F100. Absolutely beat the crap out of it. Then I grew up a little, realized what I had, realized I really liked the truck, and now it peacefully awaits it's rebuild.

With my Ranger, it's my daily driver, and the only way I have to get to school, so I know better than to beat it up. Plus, I started out really liking the truck, so that helps out alot.

puddles like you were going through wont hurt nothing, it is a real good idea to when you get done playing WASH it in side out side up side down side. i have seen so many trucks rot away from dirt piled up under the body in corners and pockets everywhere. also just plain going though deep water is BAD. get under there and take a look at how high off the ground your axle vent is, your starter, any computers and most wires. even the brakes take quite a toll from water. but don't get me wrong i go play and hard, i just have a beater toy to do it with, cuz when i go play something usually ends up broke, and i still got to get to work the next day.

No problem bro! Yeah? Cool man not too far from me! I'm in Murrieta, near Temecula and Lake Elsinore ( not sure if you've ever heard of em).. anyways yeah just hit me up anytime man, I go to school in Connecticut and am leaving in a week to go back! Weathers a little bit different out there, can't wait to take my truck up next year
What schools are you lookin at? And you got to start somewhere!

More power to you. We need more kids like you who will get up in the morning and do something during the day. 'A's are easy to get...wanting to get them is sadly lacking, so hang in there, enjoy the activities your truck enables you to enjoy. Also great to find a kid who can communicate with proper grammar and typing.

But toughen up the skin a bit. You've got nothing to be sensitive about. GL on your next 80 years.

PaulBennett - Thank you, you are correct, most A's really aren't a challenge - do your homework and study. But sometimes it can be hard to keep them all up when your in 3+ AP classes Anyways, thanks, haha it IRKS me when I see a ton of abbreviations in one post, I understand some, but after a while it can get impossible to read. You're right - nothing to be sensitive about, and thanks for the GL

allathlete5 - Thank you very much, you might be reviewing a couple segments of code sometime If my grades stay up, I'll be looking at USC (entrepreneur program!!)/UCSD/UCSB/UCLA - I don't want to leave the coast. I lived in Georgia and Florida, but I feel like now that I've been spoiled with California, I can't leave the coast!

Yes, I have heard of Murrieta, I drive out to Elsinore with my buddies and we shuttle the Sam Hill Trail (mountain biking) so I'm somewhat familiar. Pretty close to Holy Jim, have you heard of that place? It's near Trabuco creek.

Drexl - That was a joke right? Interesting statement you made there...
