Default looking at future ford ranger

hey guys, may be a ranger owner soon.... what do you think about this one.... http://utica.craigslist.org/cto/2118881515.html
I called and he said it runs great and there is only rust on the cab corners.. he also said there is a little skip in the motor that might be spark plugs. i am looking at it this weekend.

P.S how are ford rangers for plowing????
THANKS

Seems like a decent price as long as the 4wd isnt worn out and needing rebuilt and the motor runs good..Pics would be good too.. as for the plow i have no clue lol Someone else will chime in im sure.

according to my ford ranger manual: (!) DO NOT USE THIS VEHICLE FOR SNOW PLOWING
but there are rebels here who claim they use their Ranger for snow plowing.

I plow with mine. That fisher plow is prolly a big steel bastard. I would look at ball joints, tie rods, u-joints. I'd be leary about buying any automatic truck that was plowed with. I run manuals.

Yea, i'd look over that sucker with a fine toothed comb. If he plowed with it often, and then didn't wash it, i'd be expecting a little more rust than just cab corners. It also depends on whether or not he took care of the truck. Did he ram the truck into the snow, or did he just ease the snow off with the plow?

I wouldn't necessarily think that a 1993 Ranger plow truck would be worth more than what you're bringing, especially if it's covered in rust.

Welcome to the forums, as said looks like a good price if its not in horrible shape and needs to be rebuilt.

The way He describes it is that its an old truck and He wants to get rid of it and buy something else .

No picture available on the craigsdlist url .
Oil Burner
Worn gears
Suspension wear and tear
Tires
Shocks
mileage
Trans type ? Auto or Manual
Just my opinion and a few things I would look at ...

$ 800.00 is not a lot of money but if you do buy it , how much to make it driveable .
