Default Ranger production ending ????

I just read a blurb that said 2011 is the last year for the Ranger. If this is true, what will replace it?

Not trying to be mean but this is a old topic. They have been saying this for some time. And replacing the ranger will be the new f150's because a full size truck can now get better MPG then a small size truck. F150 new motors are the 3.5L V6 eco boost, 3.7 V6, 5.0 V8 mustang motor, 6.2 V8 found on the F150 Raptor. There are threads about it you should look it up in the search bar

EDIT: also what STL said

Production has already ended. You can't order one from the plant. The 2011's are really continuations of 2010's. My local dealer had to find the one I wanted, in the province from another dealer. I got the 3rd colour that I wanted. First wish was grey, second was silver, third was blue and fourth was maroon. I'm liking the "Vista Blue".

Now, it's just a matter of time until the big truck fad washes away, and we all become space hippies and demand that auto makers expand the small truck segment.

On the other spectrum, my 3.0 Ranger gets better gas mileage than mom's 01 Cavalier 2.2 did, and I drive farther in my Ranger. It's weird.

but really, does it even matter if the ranger is not around...? sooner or later it would be phased out anyhow. Besides there are still rangers from the 80's on the road. Thats 30 yrs....! So in 2040 there will still be rangers on the road, people will still have them, parts will still be made. So I guess its not that bad of a deal....?

----------

can you imagine, in 2040 I will be 56 yrs old! holy F*CK!!!

Well for us Space Hippies...long before 20 years from now are up..the F-150 may well join the Dodo Bird and other extinct species...and another smaller Ford truck re-emerge from the ashes. When economic recovery happens we may see the highest gas prices ever....so many gas guzzlers sold in the past year..the buyers may well regret their choices in the near future.

Not necessarily, the EPA ratings are as follows:
3.0 = 17 MPG
4.2 = 16 MPG
5.4 = 15 MPG

the Ford ranger (US Model) was originally supposed to end production in 2006, it was bumped to 2009, then, 2011... I guess 3 strikes and your out.

It's not all of them, any of the 4-cylinder-powered Rangers get great gas mileage.
