Default headlights issue

what is the chrome cover over the headlight bulb? does it amplify or decrease light?

just to clarify i think people call it a shield...it is inside the headlight right infront of the bulb.

it reverses the light and reflects it off the mirror background to project it

i notice some cars only have it on the normal beam with none over the high beam. would it make my lights brighter to take it out?

it reduces "glare" for oncoming drivers and it also helps to put the light beam onto the road. it is for safety purposes.

ok ok, ill try to be a good citizen and leave it on. but i will need to angle my headlights up a biy. how do i do that?

top right corner bracket is your headlight adjustment for drivers side, left for passenger side
