im not sure where they are made...i just dont have alot of money to spend and everywhere else has the same price for only one bearing. 1A auto gives you 2...maybe they are cheaply made.ill check rockauto out. Any other suggestions for a good brand and a reputable place to buy them from?

----------

oh one other thing i didnt think about, 2001 xlt 4x4 4.0 liter, does it have a pulse vacuum hub lock? if not it looks like the price doubles. Which ones do i need?

I agree with 03crew get the timkins at rockauto if you can. you can get 5% off rockauto they would be about $310 shipped. I looked on advance auto for you and you can get NTP( I dont know if they are any good) for $235, shipped with the discount

*I just did a little more research and unless you are totally broke then I would go with the timkins, are they both bad maybe you can replace one now and another later one

i just talked to the guys at advanced auto parts and they said i would be fine with the $130 hubs. if anyone thinks differently please let me know.

Side Note: ABS is not working. no warning lights on the dash, and no error codes coming from the computer. Would it be a dirty sensor?

without sounding like the "master of the obvious" Advanced auto is GOING TO TELL YOU THEIR PARTS ARE FINE. I did not see any advance parts for $130. On line they have the NTP Part No. NT515013 for $147 without the discount. what part # do you have.

is your issue the bearing or the ABS......the Motto around here is DX and then replace.....if you have an ABS issue you should start a thread for that.....

*does your abs light come on when the key is first turned=koeo

these 2 problems are tied into one. I need new bearings which i have a feeling will fix my ABS. and that 130 was just a rough number, i cant remember the exact amount. all of my instrument panel lights come on when the truck is turned on, then they all turn off.

I cant vouch for the NTP's I never have bought that brand. if you do go that route you want to order them online and pick them up at the store. plug the promo codes into the order form. there is a 20% on the site and sometimes you get better ones by using goggle. when I did yours they came out to be $235. plus tax........make sure ou get the warranty on them.

I just replaced both of mine in my '04 with the Nationals from Rock Auto-they were like $155 each-5% discount code took care of the shipping. I'm a firm beleiver of not "cheaping out" on control system parts on my truck--remember-these hub assemblies are HOLDING THE FRONT WHEELS ON YOUR TRUCK. Drivers side was starting to growl pretty good, so i replaced that one last weekend, did the passenger side Saturday morning. Once you do one, the second is cake. Make sure you have a 15mm socket and/or GearWrench, an 8mm socket, an 1-1/4" or 32mm socket(for the CV shaft nut), a breaker bar, PB Blaster, a Mapp torch and fire extinguisher (just in case), a 3-arm puller, red LocTite, and probably most importantly--a torque wrench. Local dealership quoted like $350 just in labor to replace both sides-I did mine for the cost of the 1-1/4" socket ($8.00) and the puller ($50.00).

A bottle of Mapp gas and a torch head are much cheaper than a broken bolt-I live in the Salt Belt, so if a bolt isn't moving with just PB Blaster, I hit it with the Mapp Torch. Definitely buy or borrow the puller--if nothing else, it'll help you gain some room to remove the 3 hub bolts-it's pretty tight around the CV--but you'll likely need it to get the hub off of the splines on the CV shaft anyway. DON'T TRY TO DRIVE THE SHAFT OUT BY POUNDING ON IT WITH A HAMMER-use the right tool for the job.
