Re: snow plough
I'm assuming you have a V-6 and 4X4, preferably a 4.0L?

Re: snow plough
I'm not sure with a turbo diesel but I'm inclined to think you might be asking too much of your truck.

Re: snow plough
sorry, your truck can not handle a plow. Hell, a 4.0 is not reccomended for plow use.

Re: snow plough
It depends on the size of the plow blade. There are light duty plow setups that have the amount of weight they will push governed by by using light duty rated springs as well as the the size of the blade. These setups guard against overload. If you try to push too much weight for too long, the blade pitches forward and releases the weight.

Re: snow plough
I have a 6'8 sno way on my ranger, it handles it just fine. The only thing I had to do was put 4 washers under the spring, this way when the plow was lifted the tires were still straight. I wouldn't got and put a V-plow or a big steel 8'er on it. But you would be fine with a poly/lightweight setup.

Re: snow plough
Sorry, from the UK. I have seen them on some TV programmes on 2.5td Ford Rangers. Does anyone have a link to something that might be of some use?
It is only for really light work.

Re: snow plough
This is primarily a U.S. forum. You have us at a disadvantage sir.

Re: snow plough
It's the engine and it's capabilites that we don't know. Diesels are know for their torque but is it at the same level as a 3.0L gas, 4.0L gas? That is where we have the problem. You MIGHT be prefectly fine, we just don't have the information and experience to help you.
With the rest of your truck, it would probably be fine to the most part with perhaps some exceptions due to the steering wheel being on the right instead of left side, as far as advice and how to's go.
