Default How much $ does a rebuilt title take off truck value?
I have a rebulit title on my truck, only from bed damage, and I replaced the bed.

How much $ in value is lost?

quite a bit. im no expert though. i just know Sara's car has a salvage title too and its not worth much even though you cant tell its been a single rollover

Im not sure on the value, but there's some banks around here that won't finance a R-Title vehicle and theres also some insurances that refuse to cover R-Title vehicles too.

carfax report can help on value, if damage was light.. so the buyer can view history..

example: I wld rather have a truck that had bed damage, than one that was completely under water..

It knocks the price down for sure. But if you think about it, name the price and if a person wants it bad enough they will pay it. All the buyer has to do (and let them know this) is carfax it, then have a mechanic look at it. The biggest thing is all states require a special inspection of the vehicle to make sure it is roadworthy. Take a look at some pics of my truck, It is a rebuild as well. It was declared a total loss through an insurance co. because simply it cost too much to repair versus what the truck was worth at the time. I lucked out buying my truck, so I am happy with it. I just cant see why someone would declare the truck a rebuild just for swapping out a bolt on bed.

Mine was rear ened on the passenger side, found a bed for $250, and rear bumper for $50
