Default aux power source?

I never thought of this before but, will a cigarette lighter socket work as a standard aux power source socket for DC powered items (gps, tire pump etc)??

I have my satellite radio hooked to a extra cig. lighter behind the dash. Makes for a nice clean look.

you know i got to thinking about my question later today and that was a really 'dumb' question; i should of known the answer to that; cig lighter hole is where most vehicles use for aux socket. i guess what through me off were the cig lighter and the aux socket both on the dash.

Maybe a short or something with the socket. My cig lighter socket works fine but my other one; scratch that, my aux socket works but my cig socket doesn't. My just needs to be replaced with a new one. Maybe that could be it or a short somewhere.

Really; the 04' owners manual shows those as fuse #29 and are the same.

if they are seperate, have any idea as to which one, or will i have to check all of the fuses of that type?

Yours is probably a fuse too. But if its not I got an extra 12v outlet if you are interested....
