Default BEST Ranger Moments!

Whether it was on or offroad...I want to hear your BEST/FAVORITE moments with your Ranger. I'll start it off...

Nothing makes you more proud to drive a Ranger when you get to Pull a Jeep and a Toyota out of the mud IN THE SAME DAY!!! My brother and I went to the lake to go fishing when we came across an abandoned (NEW) Jeep stuck in the muddy shores from where the lake had dried up. Next thing you know, his buddy comes up with a really nice "jacked up" Toyota Land cruiser. This thing had it all... 6" suspension, snorkel, custom bumbers outfitted w/ D-rings, and 35" BFG M/T's. Before you know it, he's nose deep in the lake! Long story short, with my brother as my spotter, I hopped in my 02 FX-4 and drove circles around them pulling them out one after the next! I wish we thought to youtube it at the time, but oh well. I'll never forget it and I bet the other guys won't either!!!

I have one similar, at a going out of state mud bog party my buddy threw at this cornfeild, this guy drove his ext cab long box 3/4 ton chevy into the the mud, got him self stuck to wear all 4 tires were hanging. Now this truck was stock by the way. I go in there with my ranger 9" lif and 33 bfg ats, we hook the strap up and I gave it a tug, his strap broke and the D ring went THRU his tailgate. LOL

We go it all hooked back up and I gave her hell and sucked him right up outta there, the guy was very impressed with my ranger.

It was a great moment for the ranger

----------

I had also pull out my buddys XJ that day, but he wasnt that stuck, just needed a little

So far, I would have to say that my best ranger moment was today. After a long time and a lot of work, I finally got to hear my ranger run for the first time today with the 5.0 in it!! Still have a lot of little things to do, but it was a great moment.

I would have to say my best moment with my current ranger was the day my dad and i finished the salvage rebuild and i got to drive it for the first time. it just happened to be my 20th birthday too so that made it that much better.

The day I finished the topend rebuild (head gasket, new heads, etc) after never doing it before and having it fire right up. The most accomplished feeling I've ever had

November 5th 2006
My mother paid off the truck. She then gave me the title for my birthday. She then passed away 35 days later.

Also June 26th 2oo5 the day she said "which truck you want? I will pay the down payment."

These are the two moments/memories that really stand out.

We'd be looking at cars for a while, but they were pretty ripe. Some complete stranger flagged us over in k-mart parking lot after looking at an S-10 that was there for sale and told us about the Ranger. 3 day's later, the day Micheal Jackson died, my dad, uncle, and I went to pick up the truck. My uncle went with us because, i didn't have my license yet and someone had to drive my dad's van home. My dad never rushes into buying things like this, so I still didn't really believe it was happening. I clearly remember my dad handing over the check and my uncle looking at me and saying "Well Ken, looks like you got yourself a truck." That was when it finally started to set it.

Got it home and I called my grandpa right away to have him come check it out, since the Ranger is the only Ford other than my Grandpa's F-150 on my mom's side of the family (which is a good size). He walked up the driveway, put his hand on my shoulder and smiled. Couple day's later I found an old Ford Trucks key chain that he gave me when i was about 4 or 5. Now every time i grab my key's i think of my grandpa, who i'm lucky enough to still have around, but someday, when the inevitable happens, I think i'll appreciate that key chain a little more.

I went to look at it 9/20/07 I was skeptical since it wasn't a ranger but drove an hour and a half to go see it and I'm glad I did because thats when I found out it was pretty much the same thing. Bringing it home on 9/30/07 was probably my favorite moment so far.

Sinking it into cow manure was pretty funny looking back at it, my first time wheelin in the snow was pretty fun too.

Day I went to look at it....fender flares looked so good back then

Day I brought it home

One of the best moments in my Ranger, was when a group of us went to Turkey Bay OHV Area at the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area in Kentucky. We had my 96' Ranger with 30s and my friends Explorer with 33s. We camped right on one of the lakes and had a blast wheeling and camping for our spring break.

It was an amazing trip. We had planned to go hiking in the Red River Gorge area in Kentucky. As we were driving that night, we heard on the radio they were expecting 5 inches of snow. We stopped and decided to head to Mammoth Caves National Park instead. We drove across Kentucky. Finally got to Mammoth Caves about 2am. Slept in the trucks and woke up as people started showing up. Cooked breakfast on the tailgate.

After touring the caves, we drove on to the Land Between the Lakes. We camped hiked and offroaded there for 5 days. What a great place to visit. I would recommend it to anyone who loves camping and hiking and offroading!

Our trip ended with a quick trip to Lynchburg TN and a tour of the great Jack Daniels Distillery. We then headed back to school.
