never remove those shields! if you do, the light output no matter how low you aim the lights, will be scattered into oncoming drivers eyes. all headlights come with those shields for a reason.

I was asking about the shields on the HIDs not the headlamp housings. I asked in here cuse some one in this forum said to remove them because ranger headlights have those already built into the headlamps. were u referring to the shielsds that come in hi lo HIDs or the shields that are in the headlamp housings?

X2

and not sure what you mean with the metal shield? There is no shield on the actual bulb as far as I know. Just get a kit and put them in as is. There is no need nor do I recomend modifying them in any way.

I have the hi lo and still not sure what you mean by shield?? There is a plastic casing that's on them in that pic for protecting the bulbs during shipping and whatnot if that's what your referring too? Its not an optional shield they must be removed prior to install.

I don't have any chrome shield like your talking about so im gonna just say NO ddm kits don't have what your talking about. You said you saw them in a ddm pic? and I am not seeing or understanding what you mean maybe somebody else will chime in, sorry I couldn't help more.
