Thinking of selling my ranger, what price??

Thinking of selling my 96 ford ranger xlt it has 182k and a 3L V6 ext cab 2wd 5 speed what should i price it at? i bought it a year ago for 1900. i was thinking 1700. I'm planning on getting a honda accord 94 hopefully i need better MPG's ranger is getting 15 and its killing me. later on i plan on getting another ranger i love this truck just can't pay the gas right now.

You might. Get 1500 for it just cause the miles

i just was messing around a few months ago and put it on craigslist for 2600 just to see if anyone would be crazy enough to pay that and i got a few calls

Here is a link to help you see the value in your area. I couldn't get that far not knowing your zip code. Advertise it as much as possible for free and ask a few hundred dollars more than what you hope for..being sure to include 'best offer' as being acceptable. Any recent repairs, emission passes, routine maintenance adhered to, etc. can all help get a decent selling price. Good luck and I hope you can afford to drive another in the near future.

Take 1,500 but list it at 1,900 and negotiate. If it runs good it will sell.

yeah it runs great sounds really good besides belts squeaking when cold or wet

thanks, i hope i can get another ranger soon i really love mine just wish it wasn't such a gas hog plus its winter and i have lots of weight in the back so that is making it alot worse.

If you can do it cheap fix little things like that. First impressions will not necessarily kill a sale but they will kill the price.

I usually look at what else is in the market for sale that is similar. I average out years and price. And averaged price for averaged year. That is the best starting point. You could take averages on all like drivetrain trucks from 95-97. Then get the same data for 98-00. Then you can just average those to averages and have a good start.

Man, thats alot of averages!

A quick shot of silicone spray on the belt (motor running) will usually cure that. Stop spraying the moment the squealing stops. You may want to tell the buyer about that.

decided not to sell it i love this truck too much i'm just gonna try everything i can to get better MPG's out of it.
