First of all Richard itīs right you will pay your ass in tax like in here to convert a gas truck to a diesel one, changing engines and everything.

My words to you Jack itīs the car manufactors only do models who gives them money input because they donīīt gona do a diesel engine to sell for ex: 15.000 when gas engines sell in the us 500.000 units,itīs just not profitable for them.
Off course they should year guest opinions and in this case Ford was dancing around the issue but they just wonīt tell that they donīt gonna make a diesel engine because it doesnīt give them not much money feedback. but they should to let more customers happy.

We don't pay tax on exchanging the vehicle to diesel, it's import tariffs and taxes you'll pay for bringing it to the states and registering the vehicle. The way around it is probably to just buy a property in the country you got the truck in and register it there lol

exactly like we Richard we have to you the dam taxes to bring a car from Spain for ex. that custs less 10.000 eur than in Portugal, the same model, lots and lots of taxes.
Changing from gas to diesel you can do it but you have to bring the truck to an inspection and see if it passes

Will try & post a picture. Cause - the pre combustion chamber inlet hole blocked, as did injector - glow plug overheated as there was no fuel to cool it down - glow plug melted onto piston and rest is history. A small aside - also found the annoying rattle from the exhaust on 4 door - turbo blew out in September, in Belgium, after collecting youngest son (who had taken part in Mongul Rally) - rattle was the exhaust driven impeller that had blown out of turbo and became lodged in the cat box
