hello I have a 85 diesel unfortunatly i just skipped the timing belt and need parts valves are good but the aluminum caps that hold the cam bearings 3 broke. anybody out there with a parts truck?

ranger deisel is prob crap. y wuld u need such a light truck as deisel. deisel is for torque an horsepower for like a f350 or chevy 2500. y wuld u need a ranger n deisel f150s an 1500s dnt even have deisel. an theirs a reason

deisel fuel is everywhere you go in the united states u find it more an more in farm areas over cities

Tadpole - each to their own, I am more than happy with a 1.5ton payload and train weight of 3.5ton, cruise on French autoroutes to go skiing at 85mph and get 22mpg - suites me, that is why I have 2 of them

there are no diesel rangers anymore. haha. or at least i have never found one

I may have found the parts I need . As of this morning I now own two 1985 diesel rangers . Parts are very hard to find . It is a 2.3 turbo mitsubishi engine . unfortunatly I had to buy a whole truck and pillage the parts . Now I am hoping to get the other parts to have two complete engines. Any European trucks run this engine?

85 - no, they are rebadged Mazda 2500/2600

The International Ranger, with the diesel is not a compact truck as it is in the states. It is more the size of a Dakota. Also the streets are much narrower in most of the parts of Europe then here in the US. So an F250 or a Chev 2500 won't fit in some places. Also, less people in Europe can afford to drive, they really don't need the giant ass do it all diesel like we have here. As for half tons getting diesels, all of the big three have plans, at the moment in limbo, thank you farked up economy, for a half ton diesel power plant. I honestly don't need a full size truck, but something like the International Ranger, that is bigger then my Ranger, but not a full size, that gets better mileage, and can tow about anything I'll ever probably need to hook to a truck, that would be a perfect set up for me. Plus they have a crew cab and you can still get a manual transmission, perfect truck for me.

Both my trucks are 1985 2wd 5spd short box I should have it back on the road by wed parts are coming from all over north america. I will get some pics soon. Really impressed with this truck (other than the parts chasing)

Richard you´re right in everything you said about diesel rangers.
In europe we can´t afford to have big gas engines like you there.
Richard do you already saw the pics of my engine?

i want a diesel pretty badly. is it possible to do a conversion with some other engine? i would love to fly to mexico, buy a diesel ranger, and drive it home.

FIRST OFF BUDDY YOU WON"T GET pass customs - you just cant drop a diesel engine in a gas truck without all the other parts you would need to make it run!,like stronger tranny

yes tweenk you can not trnsform a gas truck into a diesel one it´s to much expensive.
And bring one from mexico here we have to pay the yaxes from here and change to portuguese plate and drive it.In the states don´t know if you can passs the costums with a truck from mexico why don´t you get informed about that?

It is possible to bring a truck up to the states and convert it. You will pay out the ass in tax, and you have to convert it over to meet it's model year safety and emissions standards in the US. This is the damn near impossible part, but you could bring one As well as you will need all the drivetrain parts that they have for the diesel, as they are probably different then the set up in our trucks. You can get a 4bt 3.9l 4 cylinder Cummins and swap it in, this has been done several times, as well as a guy here on the forum has a 6.0 Powerstroke in his newer model Ranger, but it is highly modified and stupid amounts of money have gone into it. Just saying.
