Re: door sensor
My dad had this same issue in his 97 but I don't remember how he fixed it and hes not home. I'll ask when I can. Or someone will chime in. I remember it would rain and he would have to put the fuse back in and we would have to listen to the shit the whole way home..

Re: door sensor
i had the same issue, turns out the sensor is part of the latch itself. if you can get something like PB blaster it seems to work better & last longer than WD40 too.
& i can agree, i hate my door chime. my last car i killed it, lol

Re: door sensor
Or... you can always do what I do in my cars...
eliminate the chime.
Now to the dome light issue... I got no advice. But yeah I've use WD40 on many a Ford latch door sensor with much sucess.

Re: door sensor
PB Blaster would likely be better than WD40. Keep in mind that the "WD" in WD40 stands for "Water Displacement". It's not really meant to be used as a lubricant - it evaporates and leaves a kind of sticky residue. PB Blaster, on the other hand, is intended to be a penetrating lubricant.
