Haha yea mine probably won't be as bad as yours but its all muddy right now. I'll probably just give it a quick rinse and clean the engine bay up a little. Right before I went and got it all muddy I had the engine bay sparkling.

how much is it costing you to have the low mileage motor dropped in, and how much was the motor?

$3,000 for the engine and installed. (48k miles on it came with new plugs, wires, oil, radiator flush, and a bunch of other stuff I honestly can't remember)
$1,700 for the engine
1,300 in labor

That was the intial total, but of course its never that simple:
3 different types of gaskets=$150
New EGR Sensor and Valve+Labor=$250

So more like $3,400, and the engine is covered for 12 months/12,000 miles.
I thought the labor was actually really cheap, they had the old one out in 3 hours and the new one in the next day. But I've picked the truck up three times now and we're still getting some water out of it, luckily these guys are great and aren't charging me for any of that. The first time I took it out the truck was freaking out and making a really loud noise until eventually there was a loud BOOM! Somewhere in the exhaust (probably the cat) water was just sitting and somehow building pressure, I had a cannon shoot out of my tailpipe. After tomorrow I should be all good though.

I would never give up this truck, I love it way too much. Only 60k on it, still got a long life ahead of it.

thats good to know, i am with you on the loving your truck thing, and 3400 is waaaaaaaay cheaper than another truck. ill have to keep that in mind if anything ever happens to mine, hopefully not for a long time tho. mine has 115k on her and runs pretty well other than a few small bugs to be worked out.

I've been stuck in my girlfriend's Ford Focus, little 4 banger. To top it all off she's got all these necklace things hanging and Love stickers on the back, its embaressing. Especially considering I used to drive one of those, I would never go back to a Focus

wow amazing the price difference between cali and here. I few..ok several years back in like 04 i priced a 4.6 lincolin mark 8 motor with like 45K miles..these motors have teksid blocks which are built or were built by feriari bullet proof! Best of the best.. i could get it for $1000.. and heck we could have installed it ourselves i think. Installed was prolly $1K here amazing the difference!

Yeah, my girlfriend isn't exactly into cars, she just likes it to "look nice", whatever that means.

You are extremely lucky, only $1000!! I wish. I would've installed the engine myself if I wasn't in college and had a place to actually do the install, but then again, there was water in just about very place of the truck, so it was nice for them to just deal with it.

The only thing you have to remember is that just because you replace an engine doesn't mean you have a brand new truck. Your trans and a whole lot of other things still have that 115k in it. If you put a new motor, or even a low mileage one into a truck with that many miles it could be the death of all the other parts because they are not used to such a new motor. The only reason i decided to do it with mine is because, luckily, I only have 60k on it.

yeah, i understand that, i picked it up like 3k miles ago, and dont know much about the service record, so i have been going through it from front to back and checking everything and replacing all the fluids and greasing everything, and new tranny filter and fuel filter are next.
