Default some opinions?!

Alright so here it is I have a 01 v6 3.0 I really want a 4.0 at least, is it worth the swap or should I just sell it and start over ? I got a ton of stuff into the truck already that I want so would it be worth the time to just change it all over?

Wheels tires a arms shocks bumpers racing seats lights as far as that stuff goes. I know I could get everything extremely cheap as far as what would be needed to do it but just would it be worth the hassle?

Swapping in a 4.0 isn't worth it. Yes, they do have considerable more power than the 3.0, but are still under powered for their displacement. Drop a 5.0 in

Ford Explorers and Merc Mountaineers, they were based off of the Ranger.

The only thing is wouldn't the v8 be a lil heavy compared to a 4.0 that just had some work done such as cams and stuff?

I agree, if you do a swap go 5.0. I myself would swap the engines before starting over.

locks arent that hard. just get the motors out of another ranger. you may have to do some slight mods to your original hardware from the manuals. i dont know if you can get the switches in the right spot.

power windows might be the same but if your family has a salvage yard then it might be worth it to find doors off a ranger that already have power locks and windows.

there might be a kit also. i have seen some that the window switch is the old crank. you push it down a little and the window goes down, and vice versa.
