drop in / slide in is the type that eather drops in from the top or slides into the bed with the tailgate down. same as what i have. i personally havint seen them rot terrable where i am in PA, and it keeps the bed from getting dented and the paint in the bed from getting scraped up, which always seems to cause more rust & rot quicker IMO.
still a good idea to yank it out over the summer and wash the bed & let it dry in the sun to get any salt out from under it though, especially if you run an open bed.
