21mpg
Does this sound about right for my 2.3L? I would think it would be better for in town driving.

Re: 21mpg
just depends on driving habits. around how many rpms do you shift at, how fast you accelerate, hills you go up, what speed you cruise at.

Re: 21mpg
I did a road trip last month and averaged 21.5mpg, the truck is a 3.0 with a 5-speed. Of course that has dropped down to 19mpg since I got back. I don't know what you should be getting but 21mpg is pretty good.

Re: 21mpg
I did have a bunk of 2x8x14's in the back for about 50 miles, I'm sure that didn't help much.

Re: 21mpg
Yeah, 21 does seem a bit low for a 4-cyl. but about spot-on for a 3.0 V6

Re: 21mpg
I check the tires pressure every week. Oil changes every 3~3.5k miles. I drive carefully, trying not to brake much when I'm stuck in traffic, and not to floor it if I have the space. Replaced the tstat a while back because since the engine temp was not reaching its proper work temp., my mpg was not good enough.
I guess the only thing special I'm doing is that I don't use the AC.

Re: 21mpg
I'm averaging 21.4 on my 2.3L all city driving with an automaitc. My truck isn't broken in yet so I hope it will bet better. I got 24.4 city/hwy on my last fuel up.
It sure beats the 14 mpg I got on my F-150

Hell I just got 20.6 with my 4.0, granted there was a nice tail-wind.
