Default ordering hids tonight. quick question.

so im going to order some hids from ddmtuning.com. with the slim ballast tonight and have a quick question.

what i cant decide is should i run both 35w in my heads and fogs? or should get 55w for my heads and 35w fogs? is it worth the extra 10$?

i want to get 35w 8k's cause i like the blueish tint to it. but the 55's wash that out but are "40% brighter" which seems sort of cool. also it says not to get 55's in my fogs because of heat, but id like the fogs to match the head's and would that be hard to do when mixing 55's and 35's? should i get 10k heads at 55w with 8k 35w fogs?

im leaning towards 35w 8k's in both but am not certain.
so yeah. what do you all suggest? and are these hard to install? it doesnt look so but i never really know till i do it.

IMHO, I would get the 55w heads just so you don't have any regrets or second guess the decision. You can get blue 55w heads too so that's a non-issue, you just need a numerically higher bulb number.. on DDMtuning they have a pretty good light chart for both 35w & 55w setups. Honestly though I would just call them, you're not the first person to want 55w and 35w kits that match, I'm sure they can help you get that setup.

They are easy to install, the hardest part it figuring out how/where to mount the ballast.

I voted other cuz I am happy with my 35w all around setup but if your gonna do the 35/55 setup I say do exactly what Tom said. The slim ballast will make you life so easy lol. Dont forget to load up on the zip ties!

the hardest part if install is mounting the ballasts. for the head lights i found a bolt on the engine side of the header panel on each side that I took off and used it to mount the ballast to. I also had HIDs in my offroad lights that I just zip tied to the bottom of the header panel with no probs.

HID SPECTRUM.....

the only useable HID light is 6-8K after that your light efficiency goes down. So yea your 15K "Purple" bulbs might look cool but they aren't in the Useable light spectrum for the human eye. Stick with 6-8K and you will still get the "Bluish" tint you want at 8k
And for god sake Retrofit an HID projector lens if you want to do it the right way and not blind everyone.

kthanksbye.

ok well i called to ask about the 55 and 35 combo like tom suggested. they said that 55 isnt really worth it unless im driving around the mountains or just cant see. and i do much mountains. he said that 10k with 55w would get close but not exact match with the 8k 35's. i thought about it and matching the colors is more important to me then blinding people. so imma do 35's all around. so yeah. im off to the gym and when i get back im going to order the 35's for both. the guy on the phone sounded so bored.

thanks for the input. time to go load up on some zip-ties!
