I need to invite you down to my work. After taking apart a 2009 Duramax with less then 10K miles, and you find the crankshaft is broke.
I can also show you about 4000 of them waiting to be gone through. All the way back from the first generation of duramax engines.
----------
I found my pictures I took before.
Pictures of the D-max shed
Okay to give a perspective there are 22 sections each shelf has 2 engines with 10 engines in each section So 1 rack has 220 engine per side. 440 adding both side of one rack together. There are 4 racks in the center adding to 1760
Along the outside are just single racks of 220 so that is another 1760 engines not to count all the engine sitting on the ground in the middle
Going down toward the building

tuners on gas trucks are not a waste of money by any means. both my ranger and my F-150 have tuners and IMO they are one of the best mods ive done to my trucks. i wont own another vehicle and not put a tuner on it. better shifting resulting in lower trans temps and better towing and everyday driving performance, more HP, better TQ and better mileage. the SCT on my ranger and the EDGE on my F-150 were worth every penny IMO.

And at what point did jeremy's question become a pissing contest to throw his thread off track? Have any of you posted anything contributing to any part of his question? No.
Even more surprised that a moderator is hijacking bc of his "diesel know how".

Re: Bully Dog Watch Dog
Well from I have read on the bully dog item it is the same as a ultra gauge, but possibly better due to the fact you can unplug it.

They make a difference. What I meant is the people I know that did it said it wasn't worth the price. That wasn't my opinion, thats just what I heard.

Re: Bully Dog Watch Dog
On the note of Duramax any tuner will mess them up, their garbage.
On the note of the OP:
Truth be told that is probably the cheapest scan gauge you can get. That seems pretty good price wise. I mean Scan Gauge is out outrageous if you ever want to buy it. It does make your truck look fancy though, and it would add to it.
