Default Random acts of kindness

I don't know if I put this in the right place or not, but here it goes. Every now and then I try and go out of my way to help someone when I can. I thought today was a little different than normal. After school I came out of the parking lot after I was done talking with my girlfriend and other people. When I went to leave just about everyone was gone, except people who play football and ect. As I was leaving I noticed two guys standing by an old Nissan hardbody frontier with the hood open. I just didn't have it in me to drive off so I turned around to see what was the matter. They told me their battery was dead and needed a jump, so I jumped them off. Then I thought for a minute about how many people went past them and never stopped. It is amazing how many people can't be bothered to take the time out of their day and help someone in need of just a minute of their time.

X2. its sad really. i dont know how many times ive seen situations like that and watch people just pass on by. ive pulled so many people out of snowbanks and helped people change a tire on the side of the road. ive been in those situations and no one has ever stopped to help me and it was frustrating so i try to help others when i can. i do believe that what goes around comes around.

I'm clapping, good for you man. In some places people are just plain asshats. But places like Montana, -40 outside, everyone stops to help you. I noticed it a lot in the motorcycle community too, especially among the Harley guys. They help each other out. But there seem to be so many other places where people just blow you off. I try and help out when I can, and I'm glad to see others out there doing the same thing. So from all of us with a little community sense, and old school mentality to lend a hand when needed Thank you.

unfortunately, I was robbed by two men pretending their car was broken down. so, I now don't help anyone. Besides cell phones can call them a tow truck or a friend to come help them.

Ive gotten shit on before in the past when Ive tried to help people. But i still try to help people when I can.

When I was in Oklahoma, we lived on a dirt road. there's alot of unpaved public roads out there. It was basically 2 miles of dirt road either way from our house to get to the main roads. One day on the way home from work , which I worked 10:00am to 6:00pm (Odd hours I know) I crested the one hill and I see a brand new white cobalt in a ditch. It was on that hard of an angle that the passenger side door was against the bank. Luckily no water was in it. So I stop of course and its an old couple... I mean old like (80's-ish) Basically I lift the man out of the car and do the same for his wife. So we're standing there and asking me questions about getting a tow truck and stuff like that, which I have no clue because Ive only lived there about a month. So I run to the house. get my girlfriend because I need someone to be in the car when I pull it out. I get back and theres a kid there that states his dad is bringing his dually to pull it out (which is fine by me). He shows up we hook the car up, I get in start it up. its on that hard of an angle that my right legs on the passenger door just to keep my balance. So we get the car out, I center it on the road. The guy in the duallie just leaves really without saying anything. The old man keeps insisting on paying me , I obviously refuse. But here's the good part, I get to talking to the guy and he tells me that he was in the Navy during WWII and stationed up in Brooklyn NY. and he said his best friend was from Pottsville, pa (6 miles from my house in Pa!) kind of a crazy coincidence. he starts going on about yuengling beer and all this stuff lol. It was great, just getting to talk to the man was payment enough for me.

True and it's sad people will do that, but these guys go to school with me and were in the parking lot. So it wasn't like stopping on the side of the road to help strangers.

That sucks. A friend of mine was mugged under the same circumstances.

A couple of months ago it was raining really hard. I barely could see. I was at a red light and had a go and so I started driving my way through a flooded stret (I ain't gonna lie, it was at least 1.5 feet of water). So, I just feel how I get onto a big hole one driver's side tire at a time. (I was driving at maybe 10 mpg, tops). Car behind me was following me maybe because I was clearing the way. It got stuck on the hole, and it being fwd, couldn't manage to get out. I u turned and tried to help him get out. Impossible, I just got down the truck and talked with him. Two other guys stopped at the same moment and the 4 of us lifted the car from the hole and moved it forward, clearing his way. He had his wife in labor and was driving to the hospital which was 5 blocks away. It felt awesome to help someone in such situation.
