Re: I need everyones help with a school project (will only take a few min!)
As surveys go I would have to say they tell you what you want them to by the way you word the question and aloud answers.
I bought my 2010 XLT Ex cab Ranger for many reasons some covered in your survey some not. The not are more important or reverent than most of the ones you asked.
I was serving overseas at the time and returning to the states and retiring, I bought my wife’s/family car (2010 ford SEL focus) not my first choice, but not a bad one ether. I have only bought one new car/truck before now it was a 1981 Chevy El-Camino 5 miles on the odometer in 1981. I am and have been a GM man though I have owned other brands both foreign and domestic. The military car sales at the time I needed to buy a car did not offer any GM products. My wife is of small stature and cannot drive most of the large vehicles safely, (too close to the steering wheel air bag). The Ford Focus was the best option we had available at the time, and although I still think all new cars are overpriced it wasn’t a bad deal. Now as for why I bought the Ranger that’s even more detailed but I will keep it short. I wanted to use the same service center as my wife’s car (keep it to one trusted center once we found a good one) after looking around for several weeks for a used reasonably priced truck I found a 2001 4X4 F-150, more truck then I needed but car fax showed - one owner, routine service visits, no issues or accidents) good truck. After driving it for about a month the engine started smoking, missing and just had issues, MPG kept going down and after a little more research discovered some of the 5.4L engines were blowing spark plugs out of the head $2,500 repair bill each time. I couldn’t trust the truck would be worth keeping or even going on long trips. So I looked around on line for a bit to find a good deal on a new truck (full warranty) and maybe a little better MPG then a big 2010 F-150 V8 MPG 15 to 21 – 2010 Ranger V6 16-22 not a big difference, but $10,000 difference in price was a no brainer. This along with other too many to list reasons is why I bought a Ranger rather than anything else.
Don’t get me wrong the Ranger is a great small truck, but like I said any survey is biased by the person writing it.
