Default 1995 ranger with no front brakes

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

my buddy just purchased a 95 ranger and the front brakes do not work at all. the rears do all the braking (not very good) and lock up very easily. it has a very weak pedal. i do know that almost all the braking components have been replace recently. to me it seems like a poorly done bled job. it seems like when the new master was installed it was not bench bled. I was going to try a gravity bleed to see if theres any change but i wanted to see if anyone else had another idea. I did look at a master cylinder of 98 ranger and i noticed that it had some kind of unit with a plug mounted on the drivers side inner fender that the 95 did not have. the unit had a brake line entering and exiting with a plug in the center and im not sure what the unit is or what it is called. any ideas

i would start by bleeding the entire system for sure.

thanks for your quick response. i am thinking correctly that bleeding should/could resolve the issue? any idea what that unit is that i mentioned in the first thread? there appears to be holes on the inner fender that a mounting bracket would bolt up too (on the 95 ranger) i just dont know if that unit that is suppose to be there is a vital part of the braking system or if it was a just a fancy t off.
