Default Difference between the sport

I own a 99 xlt sport 2 wd.
What makes a ranger a sport, are there any differences compared to the regular XLT's?

It says Sport. On the side.

The 3 skid plates
rubber utility flooring
styling
Yeah I don't know what all the difference is. Never looked. This is a question for Myhkael. (STL)

Its mainly that the grill, bumpers, and flares (if any) are colormatched instead of chrome like they are on the XLT.

I dont think skidplates have anything to do with it

Ah, I see.
Mine has carpet.
I was just curious if there was anything different suspension wise or something.

Thanks

Dont really know much about the older sports. Would just it is just painted parts instead of chrome.

The newer sports is just identical to the EDGE. Painted flares, bumpers, rubber floor.

I always just see the Sport / EDGE as an XLT with out all the bling. They have most of the convenience features (Power, Cruise, Etc.) minus the pretty chrome and carpet. After having the rubber floors I will pay extra for any vehicle i own from here on out to get it, I don't care if its a lariet with leather i will demand they rip the carpet out lol.

I used to have an 00 Sport, and the only thing that was special about it was the painted bumpers/grille and the 1 year only decal on the tailgate. Mine was a base Ranger, so it had a vinyl floor. It had manual windows and locks too. Nothing special at all, although i've never seen another 2000 Black Single Cab Longbed Ranger Sport since.

I've seen Edges with absolutely nothing on them too, however all Edges and I think newer Sports have T-Bars and fender flares regardless of 4x4 or 4x2.

I have a 2000 Sport. It has power locks, windows, mirrors and stuff. Floors are carpet. Doesn't have cruise but I imagine that they would have come with if the buyer wanted. The only thing that I can tell is different is the sport sticker and everything being color matched, as others have said. The Ranger emblem even says XLT (someone should make a custom that says sport where XLT goes. That would be sweet, and I'd probably buy it)

My bumpers rusted though and I replaced them with chrome. So now the red grill and sport sticker are all that remain! haha

Mine must be the base packaged sport.
I have manual windows and locks, carpet, original painted bumpers w/ afterstock valance and roll pan.
I want to get rid of the valance and roll pan though and get regular bumpers.

The newer EDGE had a Ranger badge that only said Ranger not XLT. You can pick those up for cheap. My truck only says Ranger and has the EDGE decals I think the newer sports are the same.
