OHC display color change
When I bought my OHC I was told the filter on it was the blue filter. I'm not questioning his truthfullness, but I'm wondering if anyone here has modded the display for a different color.
My console has the blue filter but I want the display to look more blue
This is what my display looks like **Not my console**
It's not quite the blue I have in the rest of my truck
So I'll probably get made fun of or whatever. I don't care. I like things to match

Re: OHC display color change
That is as blue as it gets, there is that or the bright green. If you are good with plastic or lexan could maybe custom make one out of clear and then put a lighter blue filter on it...just throwing out ideas, not sure how well it would work.

Re: OHC display color change
I want it to be darker blue.
I wonder if someone more technically inclined could change the actual LCD's color

Re: OHC display color change
What color are the actual LCS's?
If the LCD's are white then one option would be to purchase blue color gel filters made for the photography arena.

Re: OHC display color change
Can you coat the blue filter with anything like cellophane, like the thick stuff that comes out at Easter? Kind of tinting it?

Re: OHC display color change
I was gonna say to try 20% or 5% limo tint on the backside of the lens...
It'll definitely be darker, maybe too dark
You might also try spraying on some duplicolor metalcast blue paint. It's basically translucent, but it should still add color to the lens.
I painted my OEM tail lights with it in red & they looked like new.

Re: OHC display color change
i laid on several this coats of a clear blue model paint (it's dark). it didn't make any difference. i bought a few blue filters, but i don't see them doing anything either.

Re: OHC display color change
I used a few layers of blue gels. That made it too dim, so I took one of the layers out. Now it's just right. It only makes it a tiny bit bluer, but really what it does most is dim it

I like that. Where did you get the gels at? and what do they run?
