People get out of tickets all the time. Especially if you know a few State boys, or Sheriff's. I have fought a few tickets myself, and won. People are dicks, and unfortunately cops are people to.

Sounds like a dick headed move. I'd of told that Trooper to kiss my ass and I'd of seen his ass in court. Unless its a newer model cop car it doesn't snap pics of the belt not being on, very hard to prove in court/a waste of time and money. Would of been thrown out, even if it was 25 bucks its still the point.

In this area I've been pulled over swerving in and out of traffic. Cops walk right up to me, ask me if I am drinking, or why I am swerving through traffic. I explain I am a country boy and have always drove like this. He never pays no mind to the fact I am not wearing a seat belt, advises me to stop driving this way on city roads, and walks off. On days where they have a click it or ticket campaign going on, which is basically when they get paid more money to write seat belt tickets, is the days you are likely to get one. Most of the time its to cold, or to hot to bother with. Especially in this area.

I have never been pulled over in Indiana, or Kentucky for not using my turning signal, which I NEVER USE unless I am stopping in an area where traffic would be behind me. If I am in a turning lane, or at a stop sign it doesn't get used. Bad habit, and I don't care what anyone thinks.

I think most cops are pricks, with an ego. Very few of them are friendly or good cops. Driving through Virginia helping my Aunt moved, I watched cops texting and driving. They've recently added that as a law here, same thing. Some areas are stricter then others, and yes I do believe some people do deserve tickets but to just pull out of your friends drive way and forget about it, snap it on and them write you a ticket, that is a dick headed move.

My buddy was sitting in his truck that was on blocks had a few beers, he was working on it while his friend was outside it, and his friend was sober. Cops came up to serve a warrant, seen him sitting behind the steering wheel in a vehicle on jack stands, they arrested both, they got him for a DUI, because the key was in the ignition. In fact he wasn't even sitting in the car just leaning in it.

As for your friend at school or w/e I'd of told him to kiss my ass, and stop being a little suck up just because his daddy and brother are pigs.

That was a real dick move there. How the heck can you get a DUI when the vehicle is on jack stands??? I would have taken pictures with a time and date stamp for that and fought it.

Hey jag off - this is an internet forum. Its going to be full of "stories" and that 'cool story bro' is warn out so quit using, especially since the shits already be put on here. This forum has got to be the worst support forum ever. People are total ass hats.

I been on an F150 forum and not one person on it has acted in this manner. This is a forum for people who enjoy the same trucks, and share a love for the Ford Ranger pick-up truck, and just Ford's in general. Yet every time someone post up an experience they have some ass hat post "cool story bro" or completely bashes them and calls them names. Yeah because that is intelligent.

When we had our Ranger meet two guys from this forum admitted they do not post here very much because of how many dick heads exist on here.

"Cool Story Bro" should be grounds for being banned. Its rude, disrespectful and its basically calling someone a fucking liar. For the short few who actually do use that line in real life, that is awesome, but most of you have brains here, and I hope to god an IQ level above 90.

Well he'd of lost. Simply because in this State anyway, if you even are sitting in the driver side of the vehicle and are over the limit, that is against the law. They consider it "A pre-attempt to drive while over the limit" or some bs like that.

A close friend of mine was at a place near here called Darrens Pub. He got into the vehicle to roll his windows up and a cop had been near by he was gave a breathalyzer test, he failed it and they took him to jail. He had already called a taxi service to come drive him home, but they didn't care he a was in the driver seat of the vehicle, with the keys in the ignition. Had he not of put the keys in it, it wouldn't of been a DUI, but a "A attempt to drive a vehicle while over the legal limit" or some bs. They got a big long term for it... but yeah just total bs. Rarely will a cop pursue this or do anything, but you do find those ass holes out there.

We have a law here that if you are even IN a vehicle with the keys and are over the limit, even to sleep it off, you get a DUI. The thing is, with the jack stand scenario, it's not even drivable. Even the parking lot thing is pushing the limit of reasonability (did I just make up a word?). Just because of the way a law is written, doesn't mean the officer has to be a jerk about it.

Too many guys are in law enforcement for the power trip instead of serving and protecting the public like they should be. It's a shame. The good officers have to deal with the bad rap because of crap the bad ones pull.

did you mean "God" with a capital G, or just plain, ordinary "god" the generic noun?

my IQ is more than twice the lower limit you specified above, so my responses should be twice as awesome as you expect.

did you know that Tom is trying to run a "family friendly" board, here? terms like "ass hat", "dick head" and "fucking liar" are, subsequently, discouraged. I would think that, if Tom were to institute some arbitrary banning for language, things like "dick head", "fucking liar", and "ass hat" would be on the list long before "cool story, bro". ...of course, that's only my opinion.

...all of which is a long-winded way of saying "right back at ya!" in response to your opening salvo.

edit: oh, and "of" is still a preposition, not a verb. you might discover you're treated less like a [pick one] "ass hat", "fucking liar", or "dick head" if you were to attempt to master 7th grade English.

Lets back up. You forfeited this when you opened it with "cops came to serve a warrant..." Maybe if you your brother or his friends weren't such wastes on our society, this wouldn't be a problem.

I was never an ass to the trooper. He made the right call. His little brother is an arrogant prick. That was my point. I know I should have gotten the ticket, but his brother should have just kept his smart mouth shut.

Haha, very true. If I would have tried to talk I would have gotten one faster. The trooper simply did his job. I understand that. It's not an easy or very likeable job, but the law is the law and I have abide by it.

I can see why a lot of people do not go to meets and do not want to be on here.
just like Chris said a lot of people bash on here.
I thought there was a must read not too long ago about this behavior.

The law is the law. It's not that I didn't want to wear it, I just simply forgot. I was in a hurry and should have paid attention. Cops are just doing there job to keep the lights on and food on the table. I'm not going to fight it or argue. I broke the law. The trooper was a nice guy. I don't like to argue with cops if I know I broke the law. They are just doing there job.

Most likely. Or a failure to appear from a previous arrest that he blew off.
