Default 2004 keypad code

Does anyone know where to look on the truck for the code. It's not in the glove box. I didn't see it under the steering wheel. I know I can take to a dealer and get the code but if I can save a few bucks I'm all for it. So, does anyone know the answer? Thanks

Hmm, they did not come factory on Rangers. Is it a thick keypad? Probably just a stick on one. They come with a card when you buy them with a code on it. I put one on my old Ranger.

RangerJustin- You sure about that? I was told it was factory and when I called the dealer yesterday about retrieving the code for it he acted like it was a common issue.

Just aobut every other Ford had them from factory except for the Ranger. Bob, who also posted above, took one from an Explorer and hard wired it in to his. Those kepypads are so handy, wish I had powrelocks so I could use one. Check ebay for them first. They overcharge so much at Ford for them. I found mine for $30 or so on ebay new.

My mom had one on here Taurus from the factory and the code was like the last 4 digits of the serial number on the label of the box under the driver side of the dash

Of course then you could change it if u desired
