oxygen tank idea...
...my buddy and I were talkin bout stupid ideas the other day and we it on something that may work, gonna throw it out to yall to see what you htink cuz 60 brains are better than 2 and hes a freshamn in high school so 1 i guess. since a vehicle strives for oxygen to burn why cant I give it some extra:
drill pilot hole in front or MAF in the hard airbox casing of 2000 rang
stick a basketball needle in it
run high density (or some type of safe plastic tubing) from airbox and needle through the fire wall and into the cab where ill have it hooked up to a small tank of oxygen. Thus i can regulate flow of oxygen, the computer will adjust due to position of needle on intake and the engine will increase performance right? just an idea
DO NOT BE A RECTUM ROCKET
honest try to grasp the crazy idea. dude, you wont believe the shat ive done to this truck, this would be nothing aha

Re: oxygen tank idea...
im not talking about gallons of air, i mean a 2 gallon tank that would be used sparingly, would it produce the same effect as other gar intake systems and or cause some benefits?

Re: oxygen tank idea...
Sounds dumb. Do you think you'll actually notice a difference?

Re: oxygen tank idea...
maybe, since your engine doesnt get hot enough to burn some gases, in most cases, it only burns oxygen out of the air, so if I then increase the amount of parts per million of oxygen there is more fuel for the fire which in turn equal more HP, more power more everything, idk, maybe it wont take much oxygen, maybe itll take tons, it was just an idea and also, if that oxygen ever ignites, itll be the end of my life and any car near me

Re: oxygen tank idea...
An increase in the oxygen content in the air will probably increase the fuel content when the computer senses it. I doubt it will make a difference. I might increase your fuel consumption but then again, it might make no difference in that area at all...

Re: oxygen tank idea...
Just add a NoS bottle and tune…that's almost what you're suggesting as a mod.

Re: oxygen tank idea...
yea, except NoS kits are worth more than my life and its a 160,000 mile, not worth it, i just wanted to see what the tock fuel/air combo is and then if i bump the oxy side up a few digits then so would the fuel and more fuel = more power = worse MPG

My brother tried this years ago and no it does not work. Like someone said before all it does is lean the a/f mixture out. A/f mixtures are optimal from the factory so adding more air or fuel will not help. Also funny story when my brother put his oxygen system on his ranger he turned the oxygen bottle on before the truck was running and blew his lower intake off because when pure oxygen mixes with petroleum it creates a bomb.

Re: oxygen tank idea...
Your MAF sensor senses air mass, not oxygen content.
If you took your "add to ppm of oxygen idea" idea and worked all the bugs out, you'd end basically up with a nitrous system.
