Haven't heard an opinion on which engine is most reliable yet. Just a debate on if the 3.0 is junk or not. I'd like to know "which engine is the most reliable?"

The inline engines almost always seem to last longer than a V.6 or V8. But any engine properly maintained & not abused on a regular basis should be good for 200,000 + miles

It has enough power for a daily driver, I've never had a problem with a lack of power.

The gas mileage is not the best, but I'd rather pay a bit more in gas and have an engine that I can trust to run everyday without any doubt.
I also love my 3.0. my truck has had its problems but nothing has ever went wrong with the engine and i can get about 20 to 22 mpg if i try hard. I have 179K miles and still running strong this engine will last 300k easily and mine for some reason is quicker than other 3.0L's idk why but it is its still not fast but its faster than other 3.0 even the brand new ones.

I guess if you think that power consists only of HP, then you are right. Torque is power that gets you going and towing.......the 3.0 has about 20% more than the 2.3. If you have a 3.0/auto then you will be gettung under 20 mpg.
As far as reliability goes, the duratec 2.3 and the Lima 2.3 are about the same.....the 3.0s are about as bulletproof too. Don't know much about the 4.0s but have a lot of bulletins about timing chain/tensioner rattle.

Thank you, HP is relative, Torque is what really matters. The timing chain rattle problem was fixed sometime in 02 or 03. Both 4.0's also had problems with poor oil circulation in the heads.
