Default Someone wants my truck...

Came home from my GF's this last weekend kind of late. I wake up Monday AM to head to work and my Mom had told me there was a note on my truck. Someone apparently is interested in buying it. No for sale sign on it, it is in my driveway. Has this ever happened to anyone else? This is not the first time this has happened to us. About 2 months ago someone came knocking on our door asking to buy my brother's windstar. And then back in the 90s when my Dad had his 87 Ranger, this one guy left a note on the truck at least 10 times over a few years asking to call if he wanted to sell. My GF thought it was the weirdest thing, but it is almost normal to me now. Anyone else have this happen to them?

I've never had it happen to me, but I have done it before and it turned out well. I only did it because the vehicle (a 66 chevelle) had been sitting for quite some time and it seemed that it was replaced by a vette. It was by no means a show car so I thought that it couldn't hurt. Turns out the guy was looking to sell it, had it in the paper, but no for sale sign on the window. Barn finds happen this way a lot too.

Never had that happen, closest thing to it I've experienced is having the garage sale crowd drive by while I'm outside and through out ludicrous prices.

Surprised they are doing it on a ranger since they are so common. My guess would be that they have seen it sitting in the same spot for a while, figured it isn't being used and thus you would let it go for a cheap price. That doesn't explain any of the other notes though.... maybe you have a neighbor in the business of buying and selling cars??

So are you going to call the person? Curious what they would offer...

I kind of wish they would have put a price on it, I would have considered it more. If the price was right I might take it. The area code is from the san fernando valley. So they may be in the neighborhood...

thats pretty cool, i didn't think that this would happen to such a common and abundant vehicle like the ranger....it must be all the after-market work and mods done to these bullet-proof little devils

Well the occasional comment about the truck is a lot nicer than the questions we get about our VW beetle while at the grocery store

"Is the engine in the back of those still?"

Probably about a dozen times, I was asked if my ZX2 was for sale. I never had a for sale sign on it, never discussed selling it to anyone, but people still asked.
