http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2010/08...to-the-us.html Another article on the subject. The Thai-built one would have a 25% import(Chicken)tax put on it...so no way. But the S.African ones wouldn't..so maybe,..but probably still not likely. Notice the Dakota dies in 2011/12 and the GM ones are going soon too.

You have to scroll down to see the picture. Notice these people have the impression it will be sold here. Then wondering about the New Jersey plant were mine was made (found out it was closed in 2004) these 2 lists related to Ford List of Ford factories - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia world operations/facilities.
That's a year and a year and a half old opinion. Ford already said it's not going to happen...

Honestly, anything is possible, after all they brought back the damn SHO and as cool as they were, I'm sure everyone remembers how big of a sales flop that was.

The Ford Canada website has nothing about this news like the one guy claims. Why would they since they want to sell them until the quit making them? As far as the Sport Trac goes..the end comes sooner according to this; http://www.courier-journal.com/artic...rac-production

For the 2011 model year, the F-150 features four new truck engines and a new six-speed transmission that will deliver best-in-class towing and horsepower. In addition, the entire 2011 F-150 lineup will be at least 20 percent more fuel-efficient than today’s F-150 lineup. This is the most extensive powertrain overhaul in F-150's history.

We also are offering the 2011 F-150 XLT Custom Package with the all-new 3.7-liter V6 engine aimed at the entry-level personal use buyer. This new F-150 series will be ideal for Ranger owners interested in a pickup. For Ranger customers interested more in affordable transportation than an entry-level truck, we now either have or soon will offer many new affordable vehicles including the Fiesta, Focus, 7-passenger Grand C-MAX and the Transit Connect.

It is also important to note that the new Ranger is bigger than our current product and moves much closer in size to the current F-150. Its use in the U.S. would become even more limited, especially when compared to the increasingly fuel-efficient F-150.

Please continue to reinforce the benefits of our unprecedented upgrades to our F-150 powertrain lineup and availability of alternative product offerings, so your customers are aware that we have the right solutions to meet their needs.
They are going to make rangers bigger, call them F-Series pick ups, and put V6s in them... Sounds like F-150s?

Redesign the Ranger if you must (I love the current body style myself), but how about bringing a Diesel 4 or 6 cylinder engine to America. Everyone else gets them.

Exactly. Which is why them keeping that bigger Ranger overseas seems logical.

Once again.... That's a year and a year and a half old opinion from a random blog. That Ranger isn't coming to the US, and the 2011 U.S. Ranger will pretty much be the same.

Hi all,
New here, but this thread was one thing I was looking for in surfing the net tonight.

I heard about the Ranger Monday while I was at my Ford dealer having my wife's Escape serviced. I knew a few of the people who worked there and have a friend there also. Was a bummer because I was wanting to wait a couple or 3 more years before I traded in ole Betsy.(above) Well I don't think I'll wait. I went ahead and filled out an order form for a 2011 Ranger. Dealer said I was under no obligation to buy if I didn't want it after it came in. (I'm still figuring that one, although he did say he wanted to order several before they shut down the factories, which he said would be sometime after the first of the year.

Actually I was here trying to figure prices on used Rangers also because to get this new one I will have to sell my 2002, pictured above. Guess I have a few more weeks to consider this though. Well I did receive offers from Ford today for 0 % financing for 72 months.... Huuum maybe they will pay me to take the thing in a few weeks at this rate...

You can try this link to photobucket for a few more pics of my Ranger...

Last, here is the link to my 2011 Ranger order:

Good for you Mike. Looks like you chose options that will make for a really nice truck. I hope they offer you an acceptable trade-in amount. For sure you can usually get more selling it yourself, but that can take time. But this forum is one place to try..with lots of Ranger fans.

mmmhm. I was told that they are no longer producing the ranger. I went there on Tuesday to look at new rangers (all they had were 2wd's) so i asked if I could order one and they said no.
