The new one looks like an explorer pickup to me...

Good morning, Rangers! My name is Tim, from Northern California, and I'm new on this site. As far as Ford's not making the Ranger in the future ... I couldn't care less. I already have my Ranger (2010 V-6), and I've owned it for a year now. It's been so good to me that I've only had to air up the tires twice in a single year. That seems odd to me, but I'll surely go with the stock Continental tires when I need replacements. I also had the oil changed twice in the same day--at 3000 miles. The first time, the dealer put on the paperwork that they put 5w20w oil in my truck. I told them that the V-6 requires 5w30w. The guy told me that there was a typo on the paperwork, and that 5w30 was actually put into the engine. I asked him how he knew that for sure, and that maybe the technician actually put in the wrong weight oil (5w20w), and that the "typo" was not the problem. He told me if I didn't trust him they could re-change the oil--but I'd have to wait another hour for this. I walked out, and had the oil re-changed at a local oil-change garage in my town (I've trusted them for 20 years); and I decided that the dealer's "free" 3-year maintenance program--it was a gimmick to get me to buy the truck--was worth only as much as I paid for it. Nada!

Other than that strange fiasco, I have had to do nothing to my truck, and hope that I get the same mileage that my friends have gotten from their Rangers (about 250,000 miles--and counting).

Later, gators!

Tim

The new Ford Ranger can do without doors 3 & 4, Extend the bed a couple more feet, then bring it to America as the new Ford Ranger and watch the sales skyrocket. Otherwise IMO 4 door trucks needs to stop cause they ain't real trucks. If ya want 4 doors, buy a car or a minivan. Trucks are made for work.

I have a Buddy of mine that works at the Ford dealership by me. He said from what rumors he's hearing around the showroom from his bosses, ford will continue the Ranger, they are completely redesigning it, and dropping the 3.7L Ti-VCT V-6 Engine with 305 HP in it.

I haven't read all 13 pages, but when I bought my 2011 Ranger last week, the salesman told me that production has already stopped on the Ranger and that the 2011's were really 2010's that got re-badged as 2011's back in May. They didn't have the Sport 4x4 FX4 that I wanted and they couldn't order one from Ford for me, so they had to swap a car on their lot with a neighbour dealer for the truck that I wanted. I was limited in the colour that I could have....."Vista Blue" was my third choice, but I like it now.

After catching up on the news of the demise of the Ranger on the internet, I found that Ford wants to introduce the "F-100" as a mid-size truck to the masses. All reports were saying that the F-100 will be a "90%" version of the F-150. Still sounds like a BIG truck to me.

Yeah, small trucks are dead. Even the other brands' small trucks aren't really small any more.

Like I said to you in another thread. Your dealership lied to you so they could get a car off their lot. I ordered my 2011 a couple days ago, with the fx4 and a 5 speed in dark grey. I'd bring your blue one back there and demand an explananation and a replacement for the truck you wanted in the first place.
