OK here is the link to my photos of my new 2011 Ranger.
I only have 2 of the Ranger at the dealer's lot, because
I was constrained for time. I haven't had time to take any
pics since I left there. Just too busy. Found out yesterday
that I am gonna be getting, er needing a new submersible
well pump and water lines. Isn't that just dandy right
after buying a truck?.... geez.

The link..... http://s851.photobucket.com/albums/a...Ranger%202011/

Nice truck Mike. The old Ranger still looked pretty good. Sorry about your plumbing problems. I hope you do OK with that. John

Thx John,
It was kind'of hard party with my 02, especially
since it was in excellent condition. I had recently
spent another couple hundred bux on routine
maintenance. I had never before traded or sold
a vehicle in that good a condition. I have always
ran them till they were pretty well worn out.

But I've already fell in love with the new one. It
was easy driving, just like my 02 was. Never
even felt or handled any different.

I guess I should have known spending money
comes in 2's and 3's. One thing and then another.
Getting water back to normal will cost me an
easy grand. But hey it's only Monopoly Money.

Anywho, go back to my album for updated
pictures, here....

Cheers,
Mike

A good video of the new Mazda BT-50 (the Global Rangers twin)...I suspect more than ever that Mazda will be selling these in N.America in the near future....otherwise no Mazda pick-up truck for that market unlike Ford with their F-150? And a 4 cylinder diesel 4WD. If we see gas go up again in a few years this truck could be a real winner then.

It looks a heck a lot better than the crew cab Rangers I've seen.

Emm... That's an older (or the current) model.

I think it was posted a few pages ago, but this is the new Mazda truck:

I forgot about that one. The crew cab models I've seen were in Qatar. They looked like the previous model Nissan Frontier. Nothing but fiberglass in the front.

Yours looks good and so does that Austrailian Mazda Truck. They both look like trucks. If I want a truck like car I would look at a Subaru Baja.

I don't know. Looks like the one shown at the Australian show in Oct. is basically the same truck with a new nose, taillights, etc. The video does demonstrate how a large 4 cylinder diesel can haul/perform quite well.

The truck shown on the vid you posted is nice, and both Ranger and Mazda look a lot like each other then and now.

Too bad the front end on both new trucks is not their best work. IMHO.

I wish Ford would've sold that model here (first pics). Those have twin sticks.

Monterrey, Mexico. I have to admit that the thai Ranger may look like a Nissan, but with the Diesel option and twin sticks, I'd sure get me one asap over the Southamerican one, which also has the Diesel option...

Sorry...should have known I suppose..Monterrey, Mexico. Twin sticks..lots of 4x4's have/had them. I just looked for the brochure for my 2002....I have it somewhere...couldn't find it. It has a large picture of the 2002 4WD interior.....nice black bucket seats and twin sticks. I ordered the Edge model with 2WD/Traction-Lok diff. in Dec.2001...it was born in a now closed plant in New Jersey the following Feb. So I had that brochure to remind me every day what I had coming. But the more expensive 4X4's interior is way better looking. I think the Edge 4X4 also has the 60/40 front seat?..only choice for an Edge.

I wrote it as Mty, MX cuz.. well... there's nothing interesting about Mexico. lol. Except that you're able to buy crewcab Rangers. lol.

Here we have lots of options for small size pickups with four doors: Nissan NP300 and Frontier, Toyota Hilux and Tacoma, Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi L200, VW Amarok, Chevrolet/GMC Canyon, Dodge Dakota... and despite the facelift the Ranger got a year ago, it still looks old. Its interior, and despite all that, I see more Rangers than all of the other, but the Nissans.

Now, IMO, Ford stopped producing the Ranger because when they come up with the new Ranger, which is almost as big as a F-150, it is going to be an awesome competition in other countries but the States or Canada. For example, streets down here are narrower than in the US or Canada, and having/driving a F-150 is not fun at all when you just don't have the space to park it or drive it. Sure there are lots of trucks like that around here, but I've had two jobs where they had a F-150 as work truck and both owners sold their trucks when they moved to another building with narrower parking spots. We are used to small cars. I've seen how my truck gets hit by careless people opening their car doors at those small-spaced parking lots. Trucks like a F-150 or a SUV like a Explorer or Expedition better use two parking spaces instead of one, just so they don't get damaged. I barely have enough space to fit my 5.15 meters (17 ft.) at my house. lol. So, I guess my point is, it sucks that the Ranger is no longer sold over there, but Ford should still give the customer the option to decide if the Ranger should or not be sold. 25+ years selling that truck and then nothing? C'mon Ford!

So you will see the new global Ranger and Mazda there? Ford is going for a one-world policy for most of its' vehicles. All to be sold everywhere. The F-150/Ranger being one exception to this plan...or is it?..that's what I wonder. Why don't they export the F-150...it probably would sell in many parts of the world especially if used as a company vehicle in countries without parking issues for such sized vehicles. At least Ford is investing big bucks in Michigan and a few other spots in the U.S.A. and Canada. But the real growth is elsewhere and they are investing more there. How is it you live in Mexico Al? Is Monterrey safe? Alleged drug-lord/organized crime killings in other parts of that country are seen in the news often. Canada has had several instances of CDN's murdered there with unacceptable investigation on the part of the Mexican police. eg:Cancun (I think)...one CDN died by falling off a balcony. OK he was thought to be drunk and fell while trying to climb over to a neighbors balcony. About 1 year later..another CDN dies the same way in the same city! And a few other cases...one old couple brutally slaughtered in their hotel-room bed.

I don't know if we ar egetting the new Ranger/Mazda... I've checked a few Ford dealership sites and they all still list the same 2010 model as 2011. IIRC, the new Ranger/Mazda is a 2012 model, so I guess by the second semester of the year we'll get news about us seeing the new Ranger/Mazda.

How do I live here?... John, you've said it all. Monterrey used to be an awesome city to live in... Now, it's hard, but I've heard of worse things happening in other countries. We'll make it through... eventually.

I've heard a couple of cases of Canadian citizens on the news. Many cases are because of a robbery gone wrong. I wish I had an answer for you about why this country is running so wrongly...
