Default please stop calling your Ranger a "step side" (If you have one)

I Hate when people say "Step side" Ford uses the term "FLARE SIDE"
step side is a chevrolet/GMC term.
I don't know if it's ignorance on the "Newer" Ranger owners or if they used to own a ::shudder:: GM truck.

also, the "Regular" side Ranger is called a "STYLE SIDE"

I'm just being nit picky this early morning, sorry if i offened anyone.

I never got why people would call it a style side.

It's so plain and style-less, it shouldn't deserve a name lol.

Of course it's just my personal opinion, but now that i know about the step and flare thing, i understand your frustration haha.

I too have a STEP SIDE and it WILL be referred to as that and I'm not changing my mind or going to entertain the fact that you don't like what a truck is referred to as. I also think when it comes to opinions like that, maybe you should keep them to yourself. This is right up there with someone complaining about Cracker barrel having Christmas decorations up too early because someone doesn't happen to like Christmas anymore.

Fleetside doesn't make any more sense than style side. Maybe they should just call it a straight side

from Wikipedia:
Step-side

Hudson truck with running board step sideMost pickup truck beds have side panels positioned outside the wheel wells. Conversely, step-side truck beds have side panels inside the wheel wells. Pickup trucks were commonly equipped with step-side beds until the 1950s, when General Motors (Chevrolet Cameo Carrier and GMC Suburban Carrier) and Chrysler (Dodge Sweptside) introduced smooth-side pickup beds as expensive, low-production options. These smooth side panels were cosmetic additions over a narrow step-side bed interior. In 1957, Ford offered a purpose-built "Styleside" bed with smooth sides and a full-width interior at little extra cost. Most manufacturers followed and switched to a straight bed, which offer slightly more interior space than step-side beds, and due to better aerodynamics, tend to produce less wind noise at highway speeds. Step-side beds do have the added advantage of a completely rectangular interior, although most modern trucks with a step-side bed are that way purely for styling.

General Motors calls the step-side option sportside, while Ford Motor Company dubs it flareside. Another common designation until recently was "thriftside," so named for its lower cost.

I still call mine a stepside too sorry if that offends anyone, but it's my truck

How about "Steppie"? Love my Ranger DWB Steppie!
Flare side makes me think of a straight sided bed with flares for dual wheels.
