Default First time ranger buyer

Hi, my name is steve. I'm 18 and looking to buy a first truck. I have always liked rangers and I was wondering if they are good dependable trucks for a first time driver. I'm looking into buying a used one with about 110,000 miles. How many miles are rangers usually reliable until stuff starts to go wrong?

Thats really hard to answer cause it all depends on how the previous owner maintained it.

If they beat on it hard stuff will go faster if they take care of it they will last years

good point. The ranger i'm looking at seems to be in good condition on the outside but ofcourse i'll have to take it to a mechanic before i buy it.

I'm just looking for a good truck to get me through college.

although, rangers are pretty reliable once they enter lots of km's or their later years cause they are soooo SIMPLE and this is a great advantage over complex and sophisticated technology...ranger quality=proven over years

also, thats sounds cool that you were able to pick up a 4X4 and not just your normal 2wd

With 110K, you can't realistically expect it to be trouble free, but there's been guys who have put twice as many miles on a Ranger.
