I have to assume yours is a 4X4 ext cab?
My 2010 has gotten 19.5 - 20 since new. I'm hoping to get to 23 mpg, but that may just be a dream.
My old Jeep (CRD) got 22-29 mpg (diesel) but the price of fuel was slightly higher, so there was no real "gain". I like the Ford so far (2 months)

When I commuted to work, I use to get almost 25 mpg, freeway driving about 25 mpg. Driving around town with a lot more stop and go, I get about 20 mpg.

I know that a lot of you "young guys" like to go for larger tires. Though they may look good, they can cause your speedometer to be off and you are actually going faster and farther than your speedometer records. That in itself will cause you to compute your mileage incorrectly. Most Rangers come with 29" diameter tires. If you put 33" diameter tires on your truck then they are 1.14 % larger in diameter. If you are getting 19 MPG, according to your odometer reading then your are actually getting about 21.5 MPG. Someone correct my math if I am wrong. The wise thing to do is have your speedometer corrected for the larger tires. Could save you a speeding ticket but it will surely give you a better indicator of your actual gas mileage.

I agree with you. Your math is a little bit off, the percentage is 13.8% not 1.14%. The calculation of mpg is correct.

Your are right ranger95. What I should have said is that the 33 is 1.14 percent the size of a 29(which to me means the same size plus 14 percent) or 14% larger than the 29. I had rounded it up to 14% from your correctly stated 13.8%.
Sometimes this old Texas boy (72 years old) doesn't always get his words right. Heck, I am lucky I can type.

I used this very complicated formula E = 1/(4πε0) * q/r2 = kq/r2=13.8= you are getting better gas mileage than your think. LOL

E=jacking her up and putting on 33s

You sound like my brother, he is Southern Boy too. Of course he does not like it when I remind him that he was born in Cleveland, but he has lived in Georgia for the 50 years or so.

I get 19-20 if I use the cruise control for an entire tank on open highway. Less for all other conditions.

I just filled up my first tank. I got 19.9 MPG all city driving. I only have 400 miles on the truck so far. I hope it gets better as time goes on.

I managed 20.7 mpg bringing the truck home from Vancouver…60-75 mph with cruise control all the way. I expect this to improve a little with the addition of a tonneau cover.
