I love these threads. For most of you. Here is the math. Take your perceived value/2 then subtract $100
Ie. My truck BB's @ $5,000....I.e.. 5000/2=2500 -100=$2,400

Sorry but if that's your math on how to sell an item you would be out of business in no time... I've been offered 7k for my truck and will never sell it.

Is the 1995 the one you have been offered 7k for?

How many miles on it?

I buy about 10 cars a year. For the last 15 years. My math is great. The value that is plugged into the formula is what effects the outcome of the formula. Your truck is worth whatever one person will pay for it. I would check with your insurance company and make sure your truck is covered for that. It changes from state to state.

the guy who offered 7K for it was on good drugs, I can get an 01-03 Ranger with the 4L for under $6K with less miles.

Do you think my formula would work on the top post? Let's assume it is 2wd?

I paid $2900 for an XLT, 2.3 5 speed, 139k miles.
Spent around $1000 to get it where I want it, (brakes, rotors, tires, and whatnot.)

I'd rather pay $5K for a loaded 2002 2wd 4L then pay $7000 for a 1995 3L 4x4.
