i was just wondering what your opinion on truck boxes/tool boxes were?
i would like to get one but find them awfully expensive..however, what is the differenence between the metal and cheaper plastic ones??? thanks in advance

I really like the looks of the Diamond plate tool boxes I myself have one in my ranger. They are very useful. The plastic ones i dont know for sure but they could probably break easier and i think they look bad in general.
oh yea and if possible look for them used to cut some cost. try out your local Craigslist.

I have a custom built brand diamond plate box that I picked up from craigslist for $50.00. I had to do a little cleaning and polishing but it comes in very handy to store my tie downs, come-a-long, tow chains, and winch. I like it because my extended cab has a sub box that takes up the whole back of the cab.

my box my dad found for me for about $100. mine is not low but i think both ways they look fine and mine doesn't effect my vision out the back at all.
If i would update a picture i could show you but my camera is currently broke.

thanks guys, i will get either the low or normal type but wili get the diamond metal one..io was also thinking that if i bought a ranger in ht efuture, i would be able to transfer the box to the new one so it would be worth the $. also i have heard that they last a long time..

Mine was about 250 or so. Cuts your bed down a bit but you can still slide stuff under, was perfect fro snowboards.

Mine held a bunch of my tools as well as all my snowboard gear (boots, helmet, jacket, pants, gloves, goggles) minus my board.

the plastic ones suck! they look cheap and fade! Definitly go with a diamond plate one! You can get one at Lowes for 230-250 dollars! They are Kobalt and have a LIFETIME waranty! ill get pics up of mine tomorrow! i have two lights in mine on the underside of my lid so i can turn them on at night, and i have the no slippage black mat for mine as well in the bottom of it so the stuff inside stays in place! Lowes has all of these!
