Default Trans cooler

After swapping radiators I took off the side tanks so I can get scrap money easier. I found the little pinche trans cooler comes right out and still functional. Would it work better as an air-to-fluid cooler, bypassing the in tank cooler? The air would certainly be cooler than the radiator. All you would have to do is block the passages off on the radiator just because, it wouldn't make it leak. You know, just have the trans cooler hanging in mid air?

Default Re: Trans cooler

a dual fluid heat exchanger is designed in such a way that you can not switch the type of fluid. air may be cooler than radiator fluid, but it has a much lower heat capacity. so the fins and such could be really inefficient. i wouldnt recommend using it in another way other than it was designed.
