Don't ask to borrow a tool more than once. If you need the tool more than once, then you need to buy it. Also don't waste money on a fancy box. You can get a great quality box from northern tool for a quarter the price of a snap-on box. When your in school study the electronics and transmission classes really well, thats where the big money is. I was an Allison transmission tech, and the pay was awesome. 44k the first year and 55k the second. Had to get out of it though, hi stress job, and I just lost the passion for it. It wasn't fun anymore. Good luck with the classes man.

No matter what you learn, always listen to what other tecs have to say. There is a lot of wisdom out there and most tecs dont do everything quit the same.

try to explain everything in detail so everyone can understand how it works, how to take it apart and put it back together and how to spot problems, it may be best to try and get a job as a Parapro teacher so you can build up the skills to become a full teacher

Hang in there during the instructional sessions. It's a trades education so you'll also get the experience. That's when what you learned actually becomes very clear. And if it doesn't it soon will. The hands on stuff will keep what you learned from vaporizing.
